the doc called me up this morning from Houston. his son canceled on their trip to Cabbo this week to fish for marlin. he invited me to go. plane tickets and everything payed for but like a dumb ass I've been putting off getting my passport so couldn't go

Stx. After reading your post and the fact you couldn't go fishing because YOU didn't have a PASSPORT sure made me laugh. Not at your misfortune.. The fact we are bound by passport stuff and we actually comply with the rules.. To bad it is a one way street in real life

bummer, and to think you could get a "mini" passport for 60 bucks good for mexico, carrib, bahamas and canada. man, i feel your pain, and a tear is running down my cheek for ya!

I have a passport and live 10-15 miles from the border of mexico..I have no desire to go there. Fishing way over there.. Might be worth the risk.

Technically I think you only need the passport to get back, it's not needed to go there.

A friend owns a fishing lodge near Cabo that I visit twice a year and yes, you need a passport to go that far but there is a temporary permit available for travel within a few miles of the border. BCS [Baja California Sur] has not had the violence we hear about near the border
