I bought my son a 7mm-08, and I'm looking for your choice powder ,using bullet weights from 120 to 140 grain. I have powder on hand for other calibers. I'm just looking for that ONE powder ,that you have had the best luck with.--Thanks --1Longbow

45.0 grains of Varget under a 120 gr Nosler BT. End of story.

I like Reloader l5, Ramshot Big Game & H414/W760 for those weights. I have yet to find a 7-08 that doesn't shoot well with a 120 Nosler and RL15. I would imagine H380 would work too, but haven't tried it.

It is not a traditional one for the 7mm-08, but I use IMR4895. It works well with any Hornady 139gr bullet in the 3 7mm-08s I've loaded for.

My son has been using 44g of Varget over a 120g Sierra Pro Hunter using CCI 200 primers with GREAT success for about 3 years now. Sub MOA and around 3050 fps. The deer never go far.

got one 7-08 that likes RL-15, but one 7-08 that HATES ALL POWDERS except win 760 and i could load any bullet that i want at any weight and it will shoot it under an inch. Every other powder i get at least 1 1/2 inch groups usually 2 inches.
