For you shooting STs which size and why ?
I just tried ST mag this fall. I like the all steel ,nice and tuff. Not sure if 1" over 1 1/8" makes any diff. They do shoot well.
They are way better than Thunder Heads and even better than Muzzy ,from what I've seen.
I like Rage 3 blade, but have always like fixed blades over the years. Don't mind new stuff,It's fun trying !
Thanks and good luck.

As an elk hunter I use the 100 gr magnum, the 1 1/8 gives you 1/4 more cutting surface over the 1 in. Probably doesn't matter, but might. It's just the only one I've used the last couple of years.

I use the 125gr mags. Haven't killed anything with them yet, but I do like the way they shoot.

100gr razortricks I love the COC. 100gr slicktricks 1-1/8 is what I would say to go with, but the 1" might pattern better out of your bow set-up so if you can afford to try them both and see what works best for your set-up.

I'm using the 100 grain mags. Fly straight to same POI as my field points and totally blew thru a young buck's spine at 20 yards last year. Shooting 65 lbs with AlphaMax32.

started with 100 gr slicks last year. shoot exactly like a target tip, which makes for easy practice, not to mention, they work. haven't taken a shot yet this year, but last halloween i took an animal quartering away at about 25 paces. complete pass through dropped in it's tracks. never found the arrow.
i shoot a 13 yr old browning compound @ 53#, nothing elaborate by today's standards.

I shoot the basic 100gr out of my Bowtech Admiral and they fly true and put animals down. Last deer was close to 250 lbs and he didn't take more than 10 steps and fell over.

Two does down with 100gr/mag blades. 1st doe went 20yds and fell dead in her tracks, 2nd about 75yds, massive blood trail on the 2nd one...the farther they go the more they bleed. Both high double lung shots.

First archery kill for me this year, so nothing to compare to this year's success. A 335 scored 6x6 bull traveled about 50 yeards before expiring. Arrow passed fully through the elk at 25 yards using 100 grain standard size slicks.

I was looking for a broad head a few years back. Looked on the sites and saw people talking all about having to tune the arrow fletching and head and all kinds of stuff about the work required to get a field point and game arrow to shoot to the same place. Then I saw the slick trick mentioned. The more places I looked the more times I saw posts that said screw it on and it shoots to point of aim. Did just that and guess what? It worked. Three deer for my bow all dead with a V. nice blood trail. As for the real test, I have two friends who shoot a lot of deer. One is on number 25 with same. Guess what? All dead. The Second took a while but even he has switched. They just work. Plain and simple.
I used to only shoot shotguns and rimfires, then I made the mistake of getting a subscription to handloader.......

Right on Bob!
I know with my experience in Archery that tuning bow to broadhead will allow a guy to shoot almost anything he wants.
There are absolutely tuning issues to get most broadheads to shoot great in general. The Slick trick however can "bandaid" a poor setup or If the setup is right, they work great to! either way, the slicktrick shoots as a field point and kills game as well as any head made.
I'm one of the guys you probably read from before that was saying if you struggle with broadhead tuning just use a slick trick and go have fun hunting. Why struggle with the ones that don't work or are so finicky they drive you crazy. Use a slick trick and take that issue off the table!
Strong, sharp, consistent, and fly like a field point. Is there something missing here that a bowhunter wants from a broadhead?
