We were out deer hunting the last day of the season (Jan 1) and saw (I could not believe it!) a grey squirrel that I promise looked to weigh over 4 lbs!

I after him! No luck last Sat will try again later in the week.

I'll post a pic when I get him!

PAYPAL, sucks and I will never use them again. I recommend you do the same.

Well I made it out this evening for a few hours. I saw him! He was a burly bruiser, bossing the others around!

Well I was so nervous I shot and missed! He was no dummy and took off running throught the thick cover. I gave chase but to no avail he holed up for the night.

next time!

I do most of my squirrel hunting with HP 13.4 g. .22 caliber pellets (RWS) out of a Beeman R10, topped with a 4X32 pellet rifle scope distributed by the same company. Have had it for about 15 years, and can hit a tin can at 30 paces every time in a standing, off hand (unsupported), position. Of course squirrels are more challenging than tin cans, especially where head shot are concerned (essential when using an air rifle). This rig has accounted for many dozens of them over the years, all head shots. Don't see the need for a .22 Rimfire, actually. Too noisy. Have used them, though, on occasion.

In some states it is illegal to hunt game animals with air guns.

I've shot a good many squirrels over the years and none of mine would be anywhere close to 4 pounds, and, while anything is possible, I'd have to check the scales before I'd believe it.
