I'm heading up to the shack in Floodwood tomorrow to check deerstands and confirm zero on a few rifles. I'll be hunting with Gramps 1899 Sav in 250-3000. I shot my first deer with it in '88, the year Gramps passed. Gram died in Sept and I thought it was time to break out the old Savage again. We will also be toting the hot pink 10-22 as my 8 y/o daughter will be along for the ride.

That is cool, keep the tradition going. That is great.

Well, I'm not buyin' two. They have a rubber Hoge stock on them too, which I like a lot. I wish they made one with a plain black stock with the same material. I'm a sucker for my princess so she'll eventually get one. Of course I'll have to buy another for the other character too.

I fell in love this morning. I traded a 6x45 project I started a couple of years ago (and never finished) for a savage 99 and got a good deal on it. its a 243 and it points like your finger when you pull it up. took it to the farm yesterday, shot it this morning. out of 5 shots everyone hit the clay pigeons we set up at 100 yards, open sights no scope. its light, well balanced and hits exactly where you aim it. unfortunately my buddy refuses to let it leave the place. I had traded for it with the assumption my buddy would either buy it or use it for coyotes since he needed something. looks like I'll have to start lookin for another one I guess. for him that is, I already have mine

and I got a text from my brother this morning, my sis-in-law got her first deer today, with my elk rifle in Colorado. its a nice little 3x3 mulie she got at 70 yards. neck shot that flipped him over backwards. she was on cloud 9 this morning. they had seen several big bucks in the area, but with tomorrow being the last day she opted to take him. tough call to make but at least she won't be eating tag soup. way to go sis!

Great news for your sis-in-law Ryan.
Mom and dad brought their pontoon over for storage today. Dad and I sighted in my new scope. Wow what a difference compared to my other one. I am really happy with this new Nikon. We didn't have any troubles sighting it in, unlike my Bushnell last year. Excited to get up to camp next weekend!

That's great news all around! Congrats to your sister Ryan. Missy, good to hear you are all sighted in. I started some work on ole yeller today. Patchwork, the upper patch is from a forward upper fender section from the original fender, the lower patch is from passenger side lower bedside (same profile)

All showered up now & suddenly i feel like heading back out and working on that truck.. Naw, I'm in for the night. I'll hit it again in the morning. Got a little grinder bite. Nice thing about a narrow grinder bite, with a hot wheel it burns the cut so it don't bleed much. a patched together fender, ugly but rust free. How do you find a patch for a concave area like this?? It's right here. Ya just gotta look for em

Dave you keep working on these Fords like this I may have to send my old 79 up to you. Good work on the patch panels, I need to do some of this on my rear quarter panels.

I was cleaning up the yard this afternoon dumping leaves and sticks that blew down last week in the woods behind the house.
It's flat out tore up with buck sign. Rubs, scrapes, trails, it's all there. There has to be 6-8 rubs maybe and 3 scrapes.
Blood is pumping, I'm fired up.
I have gear all over the basement, I've been drinking Tink's all day, rubbed the coat rack...
