Koskin did a review of several inexpensive scopes.

The whole review is here. While I don't claim to be an optics expert one thing I do like about Koskins opinions is that he isn't wed to any one brand or price point in scopes, you will hear good and bad about most everything in his reviews.

I used a 2-7 on a faux Ti in 270. I liked the scope a lot. Good optics for the price. I'd buy one before getting a Leupold VX-1. I could see into shadows well and was clear well after shooting light on a bear hunt in MT. I ended up selling the whole rig this summer. How it will last in the long run? No one knows yet...

The only issue was it has short tube. For a LA, I needed to use a reversible front base. Thankfully, extension rings were not needed.

I have two right now. One is one my Tang Safety Ruger in 257AI. My first time out with the rig was last week and I like the scope much.

I'll second that the tube is pretty short. Also, the finish appears as though it might scratch easily. The glass is very good and matched with a great price, the option works well for me.

i ran a 4-12 revolution this year in competition. lots and lots of shooting and knob twists.

the scope never missed a beat all year, and tracking was true.

glass is just fine for hunting purposes. overall i liked the scope quite a bit.

Hunting is not a matter of life or death. It is much more important than that.
