I have waited awhile to see how the feedback is on the VX3 with the Xtended Twilight coatings and Dual SPring erector?

Has anyone compared them to the vx-III or conquest? is the real world difference or marketing fluff?

do the adjustments need to be shot in? or do the clicks work reliably?

I have all the vx scopes in one form or another. The new vx3 scopes do seem brighter to me. I still don't think it will make much difference hunting in low light but I will know more next weekend.

I've been cranking on 3 of them for the last 9 months or so, with one being used a great deal. I am convinced the dual erector springs have corrected previous shortcomings and am very happy with them. These are all 3.5-10x40 versions. Calling in 4 new custom turrets this week actually.

On one occasion, my new VX-3 2.5-8 took one shot for the adjustment to move where it was supposed to. That through perhaps a hundred shots and maybe 6 or 7 adjustments.

So far, through initial zeroing, my 3.5-10X40 has been fine.

Brightness? I have an older (multi-coated) Vari-X III 3.5-10X40. The new VX-3 is discernibly better in low light, but no surprise there. I haven't got a VX-III 3.5-10X40 to compare.

Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!

I noticed when I put a VX3 2.5-8 on my 270 last year, that it showed improved optics over my older VX(whatever the hell they were,I can't keep track)......anyhow it was really good.

I zeroed it last August of 2009 and it has now been to Wyoming out and back twice and helped kill two good mule deer bucks.i have not touched the adjustments since I zeroed it.

I dunno if it's better or not, but when something works, I don't try to fix it.I like mine!

The 280 Remington is overbore.

The 7 Rem Mag is over bore.
