Sorry guys, but I have a bit of a problem with the "it's a simple mistake" excuse only used when someone sees what bad press they're getting. My apologies for being blunt, but I don't believe for a minute what Brady is stating as policy. I do believe he is trying to minimize damages and appear the good guy. Glad he offered to make it right, but a quick run through the % of folks who posted various dubious problems with swfa, combined with my own experiences reinforces if not emphasizes my hesitation to ever do business with them.

YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE THE RIGHT THING TO BEGIN WITH!!!!!

FWIW, and without wading through this whole thread, I've bought at least four scopes/binos from them with very quick and efficient service. Obviously, YMMV.

Sorry to disagree but I too have shopped at swfa both in person and over the net and Chris has always seemed to go out of his way to make it right.

But he has to know you got a problem.

I don't know who Brady is thats posting here (and thats not a knock!) but I do know Chris and he wants to make it right for ya when there is a problem.

Tex

was going to let this post die but i guess it isn't going to right yet.

they have contacted me and i again explained what happened. i recieved an apology and was assured what had happened was not policy.

this is my last reply on this post. obviously many here have had great service from swfa. some have not.

i will leave it there.

Hey guys I'm new to the board, I have looked some but finally joined. I have purchased from SWFA and samplelist in the past with good service and prices but as stated lately they have gotten real high on there prices. The optic zone is a great place to shop and they have excellent price on zeiss scopes. I do all my scope buying from them anymore. Who is the sponser of this board y'all are talking about? Thanks Stumpman!

stumpy,

go to the top of the page and click on the Gear Shop Link. I think Rick pretty much has Leupold covered, and if I recall correctly he has some good hook-ups on other makers too.

BTW ... you have to email or PM him for his best price.

Guys:

Let's be clear. I would love to be able to sell for full retail always. However, in the Internet age it is much to easy to run a search and find good prices.

I comply with Leupold's dealer requirements. I advertise full retail prices. But I am aware of and monitor those who don't. That means I already lose the business of those who look at my "dealer compliant" prices, look at the lower prices advertised by another in violation of Leupold's dealer policy, and simply buy through the other's shopping cart, without ever contacting me. Their supply never seems to run out. Sometimes I wonder how they can stay in violation perpetually and still keep supply chains open.

In any case, seeing as I already lose the business of those (the majority) who do not know to contact me, to those that do, I promise:

I will not be undersold.

If you contact me, I will match the lowest prices I am aware of on the Internet, and charge you less shipping to boot. I want your business. All of it. It's my way of earning and keeping your business for Leupolds and everything else.

I will not be undersold.

Rick

Thanks for this last post, Rick. Many here are not aware of the possibilities, myself included. I love this forum and would surely like to do business with the host whenever possible, especially at the right price

Glad you clarified that for dummies like me, Rick. I'd seen your suggested retail prices previously and wasn't impressed. BUT, I wasn't aware that you only post that because you're supposed to, and that you not only beat other prices, but do so without me having to do the work of looking up your competitors and sending you the results to prove their prices!
