I think just a little steep in price for just plinking at the local quarry! On the other hand, it would make a very good "bear bullet" while your in the tent perhaps.

I was thinking they would be great in my 4" Redhawk while dip netting with the bears. I would think they would perform similar to the hard cast stuff. I currently carry it with 320 cast Cor-bons at a supposed 1200+fps. Wondering if these could do the same.

I just bought a box at Sportsmens. According to the guy at Barnes you can use reloading data from any 300gr bullet. I'm going to use 21gr H110 as that is what we load using the Speer 300. They are a dollar a bullet, but if they work or are as accurate as the Speer in our Ruger Super blackhawk's I'll be happy.

Not sure what they offer over a good cast LFN/WLN except increased cost.

Good point Whitworth, I like a fatter bullet also. I was also thinking they were solid copper but as I re-read the info they have a lead core. I'll be sticking to the hard cast.
Winchester- for grins let us know how they shoot.

I have been using the Speer 270 grain Gold Dot SP for years. It is accurate, deadly on large hogs and deer. The cost is around .27 each, which is about a quarter the price of the Barnes product.
