Hi everyone.
Does anyone have experience on using 400 grains Barnes X bullets (made for the 458 WM and the like) in a Marlin lever action al about 1800 f/s?
do they expand on deer and elk?
Thanks.

Single load them to the chamber. They are too pointy for the magazine, unless you are referring to the Barnes Original which has a more blunt nose.

They will expand at those velocities. Barnes dropped that bullet years ago, much to my dismay. I used them in my .458, and they worked wonderfully!

Thanks for your answer.
I shall post a new question then:
Has anyone used the actual Barnes TSX FB in 350 or 450 grains in a Marlin lever gun?
