Dave reporting in, zero degrees this morning at camp. Wood stove is roaring, up to 50 in the shack when I left to hunt. First live deerstand report, all is quiet. Swamp squids are froze down.

The pinion bearing in the front diff on my Dodge decided to stop turning. It was abrupt enough to skid those tires on the tar a little on the way out to Chickenbuck Sat nite. I was going to go home, torch out the fenders on my 300M, & do a quick tire swap, but it was already getting a little late.

I guess I'll have to catch up with you guys on a LOW fishing trip or something this Winter. If a guy could just find some way to get around in all that deep snow up there & a big comfy shack to fish outta... whistle

How is the road out there Dave? Will I make it or should I walk and get the Prowler?

Just drive fast enough to hit the tops of the ruts. Like moguls on a mottocross track. It's actually easier than it sounds. Of course I have had to hook the excavator & skid steer to my Chrysler to "adjust" the frame back towards normal before.... just sayin...

Ya I mightcould swing out for a visit this weekend. I need to get all my equipment moved home first tho.

I fully expect to see ole forky toes hanging tho. Don't dissapoint me ND.

Dammit everything in the gas fridge is frozen solid! Even the beer! No deer yet I came in for lunch. Swamp is froze though, easy walking. Going to check trail cam then heading to that gray ladder with a buck party horn and a mean gun.

20 degrees outside, 68 inside, if chickenbuck hunters show up and the fridge door is open just leave it open.

Well I just tromped up to pams clearing and jumped 2 deer. Buck and doe. I mouth bleeted and they stopped in heavy cover and looked back. Had crosshairs on the chest of one, raised up to see the head to see if it was the buck and poof! There they were, gone. Should have just shot I guess, oh well at least now I've seen deer this year. Dammit.
