Looking to get into coyote hunting for real and I don't re-load. Just wondering if there are any off the shelf shells that are better than others.

I've smacked a few with the 45gr Win whitebox HP, and it absolutely levels them.

I shoot remington or winchester 55gr psp outta my 250 and get 1" or better and plenty of bang flops on yotes. I like heavier bullets in case I see deer.

Lots of things will work. My favorite 22-250 predator rifle (Savage Model 10 predator hunter) likes the Federal V-Shok load with the 55-grain Nosler ballistic tip. That load shoots ragged one-hole groups on my good days, and it drops coyotes in their tracks. Hornady Varmint Express 55-grain Vmax loads are a close second.
If you're fixin' to put a hole in something, make it a hole to remember.

If I had to pick one coyote bullet at .22-250 velocities, I'd pick a 55 grain Ballistic...
We've had bunches of splashes with the Winchester 45 grain white box. They are okay at .223 velocities. Poor run that fast. Obviously YMMV...

I dont know if its factory, but the 50 NBT worked wonders on about 60-80 coyotes for me.

+1 on the Winchester White Box. Hate to admit it but I by it at that big box store in the Value Packs. Shoots great from my Encore, much better than any handloads I had tried so I stuck with it.

Looking to get into coyote hunting for real and I don't re-load. Just wondering if there are any off the shelf shells that are better than others. Do you save the pelt? If not then any off the shelf box of ammo will work. If I wern't saving the pelt, I'd start with the cheap stuff (pmc are pretty good for the money) and work up from there to see what your rifle likes.
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Any 55 grain PSP is going to be a far better choice for you than a polymer tipped bullet if you plan to save the hides. You will ruin at least 1 out of 5 with the polymer tipped jobs - Winchester 45 gr. hollow points are almost as bad. In a .223 they will work more reliably, cranked up to 22-250 velocities they often cause massive damage to the hide.

52 gr hp blackhills, works great on coyotes and very little pelt damage.

Those 45-gr. white boxers are too hot for my son's 788, get 'em in a smaller box if you can. No need to buy 40 if they're unsuited to your rifle.
Has anyone tried Barnes Varmint Grenades to see if they are fur friendly? I've heard anecdotal comments that they do NOT exit.

I'd rather have a small exit most of the time (PSP) than a huge entry some of the time (highly frangible)

I use a 60 grain bullet by Hornady #2270sp, it does real fine on Mr. Yote. If you want to save hides, your going to need a FMJ bullet for your rifle.

The white box 45's tear up the hide bad every yote I have shot with them explode. If your gonna save hide go with the psp. The grenades do work good a friend of mine is using them in his 223 I am gonna load some up and try them in the 22-250. Good luck

DO NOT use a FMJ for hunting coyotes. You'll lose the bulk of the coyotes you shoot. The PSP is THE bullet to use in 22-250 for those wishing to keep the hides.
