Dave, how many are hunting on your 50 acre patch? We try to hunt no more than 2 people for 10 acres, and we try to keep our distance from each other, if it's possible....
You can roll a turd in peanuts, dip it in chocolate, and it still ain't no damn Baby Ruth.

Dave, I'm by Hinckley and we've been putting in more food plots every year, makes a huge difference. We still have wolves like you (they suck) but our deer numbers have shot up over the last 3 years. Do you have access to a tractor? yeah I got a couple tractors, we're going to get after it next year.

Sweet, it's great fun and makes for fantastic hunting. Hopefully you have better soils than we do, as such we are fairly limited to rye and clovers - but they pull in deer.

Here are a few camp photos. PWM telling Dusty a story. RWS sharing a chair with a couple of camp dogs. The girls having a drink and enduring all the BS that was being spoken over at the table where the boys were sitting. A couple of deer stand views from yesterday morning.

Oh I wasn't sure what to do with em, they are sitting inside the cabin. i didn't know if you were coming to get them or what the plan was.
Are you going to make it up for muzzle loader?

I'm gonna try, opener isn't an option for me because we're doing christmas early at cormorant that weekend. maybe second weekend
the horns are for going on the cabin. we had talked about it last year and it took me that long to get them up here from colorado. I had wanted them up for opener, or second weekend but couldn't get em. a big thanks to Muffy for getting them and bringing them up there!

Ok cool. Man I am wore out. I really put on some miles yesterdy, walking, looking for deer. Bet I put on 5 miles, which isn't too terrible far but I wasn't walking a bike path, went through some pretty rough stuff. I'm just plain wore out from the whole rifle season. I'm not getting more energy and endurance with age and the hunting isn't getting better either, it's all working against me. With the TB sittuation we have up here the hunting is really tough, numbers are way down. So if you want to get deer you have to really work for them. Well I worked for them but I came up with a zero. I really need to get serious about food plots etc.

I'll keep my eyes open for 3 point attachments like a little chisel plow. seeders probably aren't a big deal I'm guessing but I'll keep an eye out for them too. do you have a drag? I might know where to find a small one

Dave I will check with Jeremy if he has a disc, not really sure what he has out there. He bought a really nice seeder this summer for all the grass seed we planted. It has a bag on it and I think it will hold 3 lbs. of grass seed. Or our neighbor has one to pull behind the 4 wheeler, I'm sure we could use that depending on how big you want the plots. I think the hand one would work good, unless you want to put in a whole field.
I am out of order until further notice. My "stupid people" filter needs cleaning and my "give a damn" batteries have run out.

I was too tired when I got home lastnight to even think about catching up on the thread. When I got up this morning at 7 we had no electricity. A guy in a pickup lost controll on the icy road about 1/4 mile from here and hit the power pole. Our buddys driveway was blocked by the downed powerlines and he had to drive through the neighbors yard to get out. Electricity finally came back on about 10:30. The drive home lastnight was the longest ever. The roads were so bad I had it in 4 wheel drive most of the way. I wasn't as white knuckled as I was on the way up there Thursday night. It was snowing pretty hard and couldn't see the road. It felt like I was in a Star Trek movie even with the dims on. The road into camp was better after it froze. I still can't believe Kyle drove his Buick Regal out there. There are still pretty good ruts. I guess White Bear is not the only crazy one.
