Finally decided to get an 1895CB in 45-70 and all the local dealers who normally stock a few are out: say these are "on backorder."
Checked the Davidsons sight and they show backorder as well. I find it difficult to imagine that there has been such a surge of purchases that everyone is cleaned out. Is anyone aware of a problem?

Don't know any good explanation, but maybe the sudden interest in lever action sillouette shooting has increased demand?

Was at a couple gun shops here this week. They are on the shelves waiting for new owners. With the stronger American dollar, you could save by ordering online ?
