hey .. my long job searching neighbor, fifty something and slightly disabled, has been working at Wally's Mart for two years now and Loves it!
He's held engineering positions and teaching jobs, butt now loves the low stress level
AND has great stories to share!
His wife is still teaching and making big $$
Tom likes the late night to early AM quiet hours on the registers.

In 1965 I started working at the newest Walmart--#5--as a sophomore in Highschool. Think pay was 75 cents/hr, IIRC.

It was the early 80's and I was working at the mill in Cleveland, and making great money but they cut back to 40 hrs a week.
(first ) Wife not working, she was used to that big OT $$$ so I went out to get a second job that would let me set my own hours. And happened to ask at a Mickey D's...
Being in my thirties, they made me an assistant manager and trainer very quickly.
I had great fun there ( and found a Lot of young girls looking ! )
My old beater Chevy van was rocked a lot!
