Thanks for the new forum Rick!
I've had an Encore since about "97" or so & it is a fun system to tinker with. The barrels I have so far are a 7-08 24" factory and a .454 Casull 15" pistol barrel. The 7-08 shoots around an inch with no load development and the cannon has not had any real development yet either but is at least "minute of small pieplate" with the wide open sights.
I've so far gotten the oversize hinge pin which tightened up the slop a bunch and gotten the EZ lap stone & spring to do a trigger job soon. Both were from Mike Bellm's site/store.
I still pick the SUCKS 7 Mag. or the new MRC 25-284 as my "go to" but I'll eventually use the Encore to put somethin' in the freezer.... So many choices so little time.. Good shooting, Bruce

Ruger 1 in 7mm mag. NEF's in .4570 and 25-06, 3 muzzle loaders, and if you count a lefty using a RH bolt which effectivly negates a fast follow up,an old Enflield, and a nice Remington in 30-06. Also a Savage 24 in 30-30/20

I bought my first Ruger #1 in 1978. It was 1-V in 7mm Mag. It didn't take me long to learn that it was too heavy to hunt with. I sold it in 1980. Shortly thereafter I bought my 2nd #1. And a fair amount of them have passed thru my hands since. It took me 25 years of buying, selling, and trading to accrue the following collection. Currently I have in the vault:
Ruger #1 custom in .222 Mag. (Soon to be rebarreled to .218 Bee) Ruger #1-B in .243 Win. Ruger #1-B in .257 bob Ruger #1-B in .25-06 Ruger #1-B in 6.5x64 Brenneke(a.k.a. 6.5x270) (Rebored from .22-250) Ruger #1-B in .270 Win. (bbl cut to 23 5/8", Syn stock Ruger #1-B in .270 Win. (200 yr. NIB) Ruger #1-B in .280 Rem Ruger #1-B in .30-06 (soon to be rechambered to .300 H&H) Ruger #1-B in .30-06 (200 th yr.) Ruger #1-B in .338 Win Mag. Ruger #1-Custom in 9.3x74R (25" tapered Octagon bbl) Ruger #1-A in 7x57 Ruger #1-H in .416 Rem Mag. Ruger #1-B in 7mm Rem Mag. (Soon to be rebarreled to .325 WSM) Ruger #1-V in 6mm PPC
Ruger #3 in .22 Hornet Ruger #3 in .45-70 Ruger #3 in .30-40 Krag (200th year) Ruger #3 in .375 Win. Ruger #3 in .356 Win. (Rebored from .22 Horn.) Ruger #3 Custom Schuetzen rifle. .32-40 Octagan bbl, double set trigger.
Browning Lo-Wall in .243 Win (Soon to be rebored to .260 Rem) Browning B-78 in 7mm Rem Mag. (Soon to be rebarreled to .405 Win.)
C Sharps Hi-Wall Replica BPCR in .40-70 Sharps Straight
T/C TCR-83 in .32-40 and NIB .243 Win bbl.
1- Witchita Silhouette pistol in 7mm PPC IMP.
3- T/C Contender frames. And a plethora of barrels in most calibers mostly 10" with a few 12" and a couple of Super 14's

I have enjoyed owning a Ruger #3 in 45-70, Ruger #1 in 45-70 and currently am in love with a #1V in 220 Swift. I hope to add a #1 Tropical in 375 H&H as soon as I find a nice one. GWN

GWN,
I have owned two Ruger #1-Hs in .375. Don't even ask me what possessed me to sell either one of them. Great rifles and very accurate. Someday I'll find another that is pre-Warning when I have a pocket full of $. the9.3Guy
