I also liked Bob Milek, Guns & Ammo Field Editor, Bob liked the 30-06 in addition to the 25-06....Petersons published some 30 years ago..Bob's Rifles & Cartridges for NA Game...
"To pick a rifle and bullet for use on game by muzzle energy alone is, at best, foolish...and can be dangerous to your own health..." Bill Steigers, April 23, 1980

Gary Sitton's "Back Tracking" articles were THE best! The man was an wordsmith to be sure. Bob Milek just seemed so down to earth in his writing. Between articles and a few phone conversations with Bob Milek, its easy to see why I like and shoot the 22-250 and 25-06 so much. I miss their style of writing.

Was't Bob respomnsible for the death of the 357 Max? I always thought his articles started the end as the mentioned flame cutting. It was happening with many 357's and light bullets with ball powders at the time.

So many great ones. I regret leaving behind all my old Outdoor Life, Shooting Times, Gun Digest, etc. in a move a few years back. I can't find my copies of Skeeter's books, either....
