Well, I have to admit that the cold weather had me convinced that my waterfowl season was over. But then a good buddy called me up and asked what I was doing this Saturday (dec 4th). Boy was I happy he did call me. We had a great little shoot in a snow covered canola field. Yes, you read that right, canola. This guy can setup in a field of canola and get them to stray from that flyway and come check us out. I never would have tried it this way, but you can't argue with results. Only had my dog as a retriever and the deep snow made it hard work for her. We ran the legs right off her.

Here I sit with a herniated back disc unable to hunt this year and watching your vid. sure was a joy. Thanks for posting it. Did I detect a grin on her face? Tired but happy dog! Great hunt.

Thanks

Jim

What area were you hunting? I go out to southern Sask (Lucky Lake) every year for the family goose/duck hunt.

I'm planning a spring hunt around Marshall Sask.

Do the geese stay there all winter?

Do you have open water around?

What keeps them there this late?
