This is the first buck to fall to my 1B in .243. It took a 95gr Nosler Ballistic Tip over 35gr of 4064. Range was 272 yards. The nicest buck that I've ever shot.

Also, if you didn't take any I suggest next time snapping a few photos from ground level to the deer and not just above.

Nice job! Did he run far, or at all?

Very nice.I'm one of the few that like stainless steel Ruger No.1's. I'm also quite fond of the 243 Winchester. Thanks for sharing.

Nice buck; great picture; shot with a neat rifle! That appears to be very impressive mass on that buck!

Great buck! I really like the way you got the rifle in the shot. Follow Scott advice and get some ground level shots, next time.

Thanks for all the comments.
1B- The buck actually fell right in his tracks.
Stellhead- Thank you for the advice. I did get a couple. I'll have to see if I can get them posted too.

NICE BUCK !!!..another one dispatched by that inferior/marginal 243...Don't you know it's not a good choice for a deer rifle!! You beat me to the punch!! Doesn't everyone know by now, a .243 Win. isn't potent enough to drop a deer? My twin brother living in Arkansas at the time, dropped 4 deer with 4 shots from a .243 Win. Of course those deer looked like dogs compared to your nice Buck!! Congrats.
If there is any proof of a man in a hunt it is not whether he killed a deer but how he hunted it.
