Enjoy yourself while you can <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Should be a whale of a game regardless of how it turns out.

But...go Illini !!

Where ya from in NC?
I'm from Hatteras but in Wilmington.
BTW

Go Heels!
Duke lost too bad, I have always hoped for an all NC final four, Duke UNC State and Wake in the final four. Sweet thought or what? Could be?

As long as that trophy comes back to where it belongs (the ACC), it's all good.

The NCAA is the only time I root for anyone besides NC State, it like a family thing. I might talk trash about Carolina or say Duke is Puke but when it comes crunch time and the big east guys think they can play some ball, well, I'm a Carolina fan.
How do you get Carolina Blue?

I wish they would get the NCAA game back from the garbage ball it has devolved to. Trying to emulate the NBA makes me want to puke. If I want to watch pituitary freaks wrestle I'll turn on the WWF or the NBA.

They have stopped calling 3 seconds in the lane and allowing the biggest guy to stand in there and shove is NOT basketball. The refs also ruined the game with the poorest officiating job I have seen in a long time. They determined the outcome, not the players.

I really did not care which team won, just wanted to see a good game. I thought it sucked in spite of the incredible comeback and the play of some gifted ball players...

It did remind me of watching the Lakers and the Heat the last few years. If they allow that type of play then the best team won. Basketball has changed. At least Sean May can make a free throw. By the way, I had Illinois picked.

Sigh....

That May kid is quite good...every bit the player his dad was for Indiana. NC did a good job of keeping Illinois' center from being a factor. Illinois did show the spine and character that have made them so much fun to watch.

Sitka, some say the college women's game is more true than the men's these days. My officiating problem was with the fact that the moving screen violation seemed to drop from the rule books for 20 minutes ... but I ain't complainin'!

Illinois is a fabulous team this year, but they could not answer the inside play of UNC. A perimeter team has to get on fire and stay on fire to beat a balanced team with power in and out. The men in blue did a pretty good job on defense, too. Marvelously coached by Roy as well -- he hasn't finished winning by a long shot. My hope is that he can turn around the sorry run against Duke of late. Have to give it to Coach K though -- no one gets more wins out of less talent than him. He also works officials better than anyone, and the Cameron crowd is the toughest in the game.

The whole "let 'em play concept" is beyond me... Rules should either be enforced or changed... Taking the only Illinois big man out on 5 cheap fouls, when they were only calling them one way was cheap; the immediate "make-up call," pathetic and tawdry beyond words.

With the rewind feature afforded by satellite TV it was easy to run the plays back as many times as desired. CBS does not run back cheap calls and it gives the TV audience no clue about what was going on. I think the officials stole the game from the Illini and the audience.

I am not convinced the big man was the difference, but it was a close game and the best player in the previous tournament was taken out by officiating???

I decided years ago the NBA was staged and believed it would not happen to the NCAA... I honestly believe now, that I was wrong. During the entire play-off I watched quite a few games and do not believe I saw a single 3-second violation called. Even a basketball player is bright enough to pick up on the lack of interest in the call... and will start camping in there until it is called.

Ok ACC guys I have to go along with Sitka here although not as far. Illinois' big guy out after nine minutes of play and five "touch" fouls in a championship game doesn't seem appropriate.
If NC had the best talent which is easily possible I still think Ill had the best team.
