I'm still trying to get over my past experiences as a young boy (started when I was five or six) of being subjected to the horrors of watching my father kill (tasty) animals for food.

Why do people say things like "if they were hunting for food it would be different"? Hunting *is* partly about obtaining food at least in my family. It's not the sole option for food but neither is any individual grocery store, that doesn't mean the grocery store isn't a viable food provider.
The church is near, but the roads are icy. The pub is far away, but I will walk carefully.
