I bet. You'll be using snowshoes soon. We had deer nearly on our deck again tonight. They were feeding pretty heavy before the storm gets here. It was constant deer until we left tonight.

Was at the bar and showed the pics of Dave's new toy and everyone thought that was the coolest thing. Not everyone has one of those.

Hey Pam, Dave has to make an enclosed area in the back for all of us to ride. Heated too. He could probly make some extra money from some of those that don't have the right equipment to haul their fish houses out where they want them. Look at the bright side. smile

This is Pam typing for Dave while we drive. We are in WI heading south on 53. Destination for picking up the Tucker is the Moon Saloon on County Road O. Expect we'll be there by noon. If Grizzly Bill has time, we'll buy him a beer at Moon Saloon at high noon. grin

Pam/Dave, here's what you're driving into. Visability is not good. We've got about 4 inches on the ground now and the wind is starting to pick up speed.

Statement as of 6:44 AM CST on December 11, 2010

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon CST Sunday...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until noon CST Sunday.

* Snow will continue across the area today into tonight. The
heaviest snow should fall today and this evening.

* A total accumulation of 8 to 14 inches is expected by Sunday
morning... with the heaviest accumulations expected in central
Wisconsin.

* Winds will increase tonight... causing widespread blowing and
drifting and near blizzard conditions that will continue into
Sunday.

* Cold air pouring into the area will result in dangerously low
wind chills Sunday night and Monday morning.

* Travel conditions will become extremely hazardous. Non-
essential travel should be postponed until the storm has
passed.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning for heavy snow and blowing snow means
severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. The
combination of snow and strong winds will make travel very
difficult. If you must travel... keep an extra flashlight... food...
and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest
Wisconsin Road conditions can be obtained by calling 511.

We have a way of finding weather like this. We are having breakfast in a nice little place in the spooner area.

I have a great story of about the Moon Saloon...that I'm not going to tell on here. It was part of the adventures of Tom and Lucas. Stay out of the Men's room, it's stiill probably ain't right. grin

You guys will be in our old stomping grounds. Betsy and I lived about 20 miles from there. Been to the Moon Saloon many times. You might as well make the loop. Hit the Hammer Down, Winter Haven (Very Cool place), East End Pub, stop for a burger at the Arrow Bar and come home.

Seriously, if you guys need a place to stay, I can get a hold of my father in law, or you can call Grizzly_Bill. You'll be in between both at that point.

Talked to Dave about 15 minutes ago. He's on Hwy 29 East in the Throp area. Said he was doing about 35 MPH. Changed his ETA to around 1:00 PM.

I just came back from trying to get in to work. 'Made it about three miles down the road and drove through 2 total whiteouts. That was enough for me. Crawled back to the house. It's pretty bad out.

Not too bad in the northwest metro. I drove to Monticello to pick up a couple of things and see if anyone was icefishing (they were)

You're probably right BM.

Met up with Dave and the family at the Moon Saloon. Great to meet them. They had several offers from the folks there to stay, but Dave wanted to get on the road. He said he would pull off and spend the night somewhere if it got too bad.
