I didn't notice the change in the deer camp title till now. Welcome to the fire MRB. Hope you stick around. We are like one big family here. Nice to see you here again dad (Uncle Dusty). And really good to hear about the snipers not shooting the deer out of helecopters. We will get all kinds of them next year.

You got a hitch on that Tucker? I keep looking at that thing, it's pretty sweet.

It's about 40 miles up there across the lake. It would take about 4 hours one way! LOL!!
I really should re-gear that thing.

I really should re-gear that thing. Drop-camp fishing on the best lake in the world. You know, that idea could really grow some legs. Seriously.

There are quite a few that already do it.
I think I can make some $ just by being out there, people are always stuck or always need a house moved.
Once I get a feel for average fuel consumption per mile I'll know what to charge folks based on where they are at, where they want to go etc. Charge for the machine and my time.
A 5 mile pull is probably going to be 50 bucks (guess) because it's going to be 10 miles round trip for me and will likely eat up an hour of machine time. $50 per hour for a machine & opperator really isn't bad at all.
I'd likely end up backwards at that rate... it will take some experience with the machine to know for sure.
Something clever here.

You should charge at least $75 an hour. Thats what Jeremy gets for snow removal with the skid steer. He does have a minimum rate & it is $75 hr. after that for dirt work.

Dave, you way way underprice your self at $50 an hour. That is just what you alone are worth, seriously. The machine and gas should be on top of that. The gas really wouldn't be enough to worry about in the grand scheme of things. And don't forget all the travel to and from LOW. You might not charge for that directly but its part of the business (and the expenses come tax time). Throw in a little professional advice ("chubs a foot off the bottom on a #4 hook") and you could double your money as a consultant too! Then sell Camp Chickbuck memorabilia along the way, and you are set for a fat and early retirement... No telling where this could go... Maybe you should think about an IPO here. I bet there would be a pile of investors beating a path to your camp.
