For deer, the Hornady 100gr SP is the only bullet you'll need.

I'll agree on the 100 Hornady, it has worked very well for me. I use 46 grains of H4350.

Mine shoots the 115/117's better than 100's so I load the heavier bullets.
43-44 grains of H4350 should get about 2900fps through a 22" barrel.

I like the 100 grain Hornady too. My Ruger 77 shoots 'em well.

Take a look at the loads on Hodgon's site with 115 gr. partitions and hybrid 100v powder. I'm gonna try it in my .257.

Mine is the 257 Ack Imp and i use the Nosler 100 gr Partition with IMR 4831. My rifle group this bullet three shots into 1/2 to 3/4 inch at 100 yards. The rifle is a deer killer .
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.

Mine is a 3"er and I use 47.5 of h4350 with 120gr NP. On my sheep hunt's if a nice grizzly shows I'm confident this combo would be plenty of gun.
I tend to use more than enough gun

100 grain seems to be the bullet most used.

100 grain seems to be the bullet most used. I get over 3000 fps with a 100gr Hornady. It's lots for deer. .

2.865"...what's up with that??
Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!

Thanks everyone. I picked up some Hornady 100gr Interlocks today. Going to try a few diferent loads. I will be trying the Honady 100's, Barnes TSX and TTSX 100gr, Nosler 110 Accubonds and 115gr Partitions. That along with the 30-06 and 338-06 should make for a good winter.

2.865"...what's up with that?? Congratulations .... I knew eventually someone would call me on that measurement given my previous pontification about a 3" Roberts. 2.865" is where those Hornadys shoot good in that rifle. I also have a load for Accubonds and am going to try some 120 Hornady HPs. I guarantee those loads will be longer. .

When developing a load what method do you use. I was thinking of trying the ladder method where you load one round and incress each round .5 grains.
