Or anyone who has a er shaw mark VII. How does the rifle feel when shouldered? Is the stocks the same a current production savages, or are they different stocks? I am thinking about ordering one this spring, but not being able to handle one to see if it fits me well or not is kinda bothering me. I would appreciate any info on this.

I have no idea if the stocks are the same as those on Savages. The one on mine is the JRS model designed by Jon Sundra, which might be described as a hefty classic-style. It feels fine to me, but classic-style stocks fit me pretty well.

Thank you for your response John. Just so I am sure I am understanding, the rifle you have does not have the same stock that they come with? Or do they come with the JRS style stock?

Mine has the JRS stock, but a variety of stocks can be ordered. Or at they could last time I checked.

The web site shows 4 different stocks available but does not give good descriptions of them. Recalling from a picture I have seen of yours I think, Yours has a brown laminate correct?
