Hope everyone is doing good! Had a quick question! Has anyone had any experience with Wisconsin Cart. 375 220 grainers? I am thinkin about getting a 375 Win sometime in the near future. Just curious about these 220 grainers. Thanks!

I could be wrong but I think they load theirs with the old .375 standby load of 36.0gr. Reloader 7 and a Hornady 220gr FP. I shoot this load (loaded by me) in my Marlin 375 and accuracy is excellent. I've only take one deer with this rifle, but performance was exactly what I expected. Deer went ~10 yards shot through the heart.

That is impressive! I have been reading quite a bit about the 375 and I am really impressed. I have been using my 30-30, but I just wanted to move up to a larger caliber.

I fell in love with the 375 win when they first came out, had one built with a 24in med weight barrel. With the 250gr power points it performed exceptionally, every bullet recovered looked like an advertisement for the bullet. Used the 220 hornady with 39gr of reloader 7, okay accuracy but the bullets came apart. Shot deer, moose, black and brown bear with it. After they dropped the 250 power point couldn't find a bullet I was satisfied with. I would look into hawk or kodiak bullets and see if either company makes a 250, more accurate due to twist rate and this caliber is best with a heavy bullet in my opinion, barnes used to make a 250, don't know it they still do. Definetly a great rifle/caliber combination. Moved to 356win nest, great results with the 220 speer and the 250 kodiak, the 250 power points didn't open up on deer in 356.

Thanks for the info! I can't get over the fact that you shot brown bear with the 375 Win. I am going to check into the 250 grainers. I reload so it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks again!

Hey Mark338, I checked on the websites you mentioned, and the 250 grainers in the hawk, kodiak, and barnes are available.

Interesting thought. They may be better suited to .38-55 velocities. Which suits me fine because I'm about to reduce my .375 load down into .38-55 territory.

The 220 Hornady/36 grs. RL7 seems to be a well balanced load that provides good accuracy and reliable performance on game. It works well for me.

I know you guys are talking about using jacketed bullets in the 375 winchester but when my divorce is done and I can again buy firearms one of the first will be a 375 winchester that I will load with 268,300 and 350 grain lead bullets. Nope they don't go very fast but should make a nice hole when they connect with anything range will be limited also most likely 100 yards but then that is around as far as my old eyes like to focus anyway. Just something for you to think about.

I use the Wisconsin Cartridge ammo in my 375Win. Its great deer medicine. I don't fix anything that aint broken.

Is WI Cartridge a custom reloader or repackaged factory loads? There is some pretty decent pricing for most of the really popular calibers.

They load their own offerings, in new cases/brass, which is reloadable.
