Do bullets such as the Barnes Triple Shock load with the same recipes as a conventional lead core soft point? Thanks! Obviously I'm a greenhorn reloader.

Every caliber and rifle are different. Solids tend to generate a bit more pressure so I would start with about 2gr less and see where that gets you. Also this can vary from caliber to caliber and even rifle to rifle. What caliber/bullet combo are you using? jorge

A good principle to guide me through life: “This is all I have come to expect, standard lackluster performance. Trust nothing, believe no one and realize it will only get worse…”

I've got a 300 WSM Model 70 Extreme Weather. Just thinking ahead to an elk hunt. I would probably use 165 or 180 grain. I don't have a chronograph.

Have never seen a TSX make more pressure than a cup/core. Have seen c/c's make more than them however, due to obturation and bearing surface.............

Yes, if you mean what you should mean, that being the book starting loads. No, if you mean can you swap bullets willy-nilly in an established load developed for another.

There is no way to predict the pressure change between bullets, a LOT more than the base metal comes into play.

I agree with Boomtube, start at minimum and work up carefully, watching for pressure signs along the way and you should be fine.
