I'd like another run of '94s in .32-20 with 24" round rifle barrels and either button or half magazines. And they could make some more clip-fed 57s in .22WRM, too--missed the boat on that one!

Recent production seems fine.

I would like to see Marlin build new rifles that work every time - all the time with ZERO malfunctions!

It is a manufactured product. Nothing is perfect. I am a huge Marlin fan and the recent guns I have seen should not have been let out of the plant due to QC issues but I have seen the old one fail also.

wow, this is the way it started out

"If you could persuade Marlin to introduce a new rifle, what would it be? There are two I wish for: A .444 in the "SBL" configuration with laminated wood, short barrel, full length mag, big lever. I'd take blue or stainless but don't want the picatinny rail. Also want a 1894 CL in .38/40 Win. I can see the .444 being done but am not holding my breath on either"

and this is where it ends up

"Bend me over.........you are all DICK !!!"

to quote the not late, great Rodney King, "can't we all just get along" smile

I certainly agree with RJM----a 336 stainless in 356win with eng stock and 18" barrel. I love my 45/70 GG, but that is what I REALLY want!!! Might buy two???

Make one that will work right out of the box, that won't have to make trip(s) back to the factory and one that has high QC standards.

In the cowboy action world, one that will not need a bunch of work to function fast and smooth, one that will not result in the dreaded "Marlin jam". Those problems are fixable by those who know how. A hardened strip on the bottom of the carrier where the lever engages it shouldn't be that big a deal.

Why can't the factory fix (engineer) those issues before they need fixing? With CAD, CAM and CNC machining, why put out less than perfectly made parts and not have a perfectly designed/engineered/manufactured rifle?

Rem/Marlin should get copies of guns that have been tweaked and run perfectly, study those parts and relationships, duplicate exactly what makes a perfect Marlin a perfect Marlin. If they don't know, there are people out there who do and I'm sure they'd be glad to help.

Other than all that, I do like Marlins.
