Started this project some time back, got all the parts finally and put it all together the
other day. I was surprised that, so far anyway, it functions and ejects rds every time.
Started with a trigger guard that I had made without a magazine opening and a single
shot adapter. That setup worked so I modified a CZ magazine so it was blind, to see if
it could be loaded from the top. Now a SMART person would have tried loading a good
mag installed in a perfectly good working rifle and THEN modified the mag if all went
well, but then you need to remember who started this thread. blush

Here is the "Blind" trigger guard:

Magazine shortened as well as the follower:

Fully assembled:

The first try the magazine would only hold 3 rounds and the 4th would not go, so I shortened
the long leg of the follower until the 4th would just fit:

Loading is not much of a challenge once you point the muzzle down, drop in the round so it just
starts in the chamber, then using your thumb push the rd down and slide it back in the mag.
The last rd(4th) can be a little tricky but I think if I shorten the long leg of the follower just a
little more it will fix itself.

Cycling the bolt, it chambers and ejects the rounds so the next step will be a range test when
it quits snowing. Hopefully it will load easy with the scope mounted.

HotRod,you're pretty smart,in my opinion anyway. That sure is beautiful work,I need about 4 ,one being for a 452 Lux .22 magnum.I need them to be the conventional magazine types though.People are searching high and low for the CZ452 bottom metal. You already know that though, huh? wink

Most excellent! That greatly improves the lines of the rifle. I absolutley detest and will not buy any arm that has a mag projecting below the lines of ones stock. If I can't look good, I'm not going out. Aesthetics, don't feel pleasant with a single hand carry, snag up on soft surfaces and scratch hard surfaces. Even with the rifles that I presently use, I seldom find myself actually employing the magazine. I'm mostly a ground squirrel shooter (do about 500 rds a day), and from a time conservation standpoint find it much faster to setup with a coffee tin full of ammo and load single shot.

If some one is in a similar production mode the next time I need a new 22, I might consider a CZ. Do they still carry the backwards safety???

Its a magazine not a clip......
