I've seen that trick before, you use those special chevy push rods that look like chains or ropes. Those things are amazing! I can't understand why they never bend?
Something clever here.

Truthfully, I didn't have any trouble with the engine at all. I had trouble with the trans, trans cooler, trans cooler lines, most things electrical in the dash, and the front diff. Mine was an 04 Tahoe. I was so mad for so long because I really liked that rig. It fit all the family and all the gear, two'd my 3500# boat around, could turn around on all but the smallest logging roads. It was perfect...until 100K. Then she fell apart. GM did replace the front diff at their cost because I had perfect service records for it, done at the dealer. I couldn't trust it after I got all the stuff fixed though. I was the maintenance guy at work and had seen some of the issues that could have potentially come up. I had to dump it. I'm not a big toyota guy, but I had one, with zero problems. This one was a good price and low miles, so I bought it. So far it's been a great truck. I'm creeping up on 100K so I'm expecting something to go soon. I hope not. I'd like to keep it until I pay it off, then buy a new F-150. I've been drooling over them since my ride last week.

My fords have a deer atracting problem.
You know what? My last F-150 had that problem too. They seemed to come out of the woods and just run for that truck. It sure seemed like it.

They don't like my old fords though, too much metal I guess, or maybe too damn noisy!

I have always been a GM afficianado and driven their products until 2008 when they caved in to the administration and to the unions. No more!Ford is the only manufacturer who did not give in and THAT FACT bought my allegiance from now on.When I bought Linda a new vehicle in September,2010 it was a new 2011 FORD Escape. All my vehicles from now on will be Fords or KIAs.KIA built a HUGE new plant in my home town of West Point,Georgia.I do right now drive a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer which was the LAST new GM vehicle which we bought new and that was in 2002.When it wears out I will buy a Ford or KIA.

The Escape has been real good to my Mom, Stan. She's had one since the first year they came out 01 or 02. It has been trouble free for her. She said when it's time to replace it, it will be with another Escape. It has been paid off for years and trouble free, so she has no plans for a newe one.
She was however smart...she kept making payment to herself after she was done, and doesn't have to make them on the next car.

I have been driving Fords since 1994. I am on the 5th one. Lets see, the maintenace list includes: an alternator, a front wheel bearing, and a front hub part......one or maybe 2 oil changes ....that is all i can think of. We have a trailblazer too. a 2006. One front wheel bearing, 3 headlights, fuel tank gauge thingy, stabilitrak problem. i think i forgot something too. By the way, that rip on Dusty was one of the better ones i have came across in a while. Nice.

What are you running?
I was skeptical about my toyota's breaks at first because they're kinda small. I thought they would wear fast because I'm always towing something. So far, I'm OK on them though. They were replaced at 33K by Toyota and I haven't had to touch them yet.

Tacoma, Don't do much pulling or hauling though. Toyota puts oversize drums on the rear(compared to other small trucks)so if you don't haul much they last awhile.

When I got rid of my last Ford Super Duty I had 118K on it and had over half the brakes left. And I did pull with it as it was a diesel.

I have the first generation Tundra, (the smaller one) it has disc's on the front and drums on the back.
I don't tow nearly as much anymore, since I stopped fishing tournaments. It was 4 days a week and both weekends. Now it's a 16.5' alumainum not a 19' glass, and a wheeler trailer.

"rope stiffener" now available at your local GM dealerships. Does the "rope stiffener" come in the ketchup dispensers they have at fast food joints? There have been the occasional nights of excess drinkin that I would have liked to have one on the nightstand.

We only pick on you because we love you Uncle Dusty.
Dave and Dusty...What's the bear situation up at chickenbuck. Should we be putting in for tags up there this year?
