Thinking of trying some Hornady Superperformance .223s in my varmint gun and wondering if the 1/8 twist is to fast. My other option would be 60gr vmax that Black Hills sell.

i've shot lotsa 55 grain V-max and NBT in 1-8" and 1-7" with good results in bolt guns.
Guns don't kill people, drivers with cell phones kill people.

Yep even shot 45 grainers in my 1/8 twist. I shot alot of 50 gr NBT and Federal HP's in my 1/7 guns too. Never "poofed" a bullet and accuracy was normal.

only poofs I've seen have been from my 7 and 6.5 twists... and those in thin jacketed... IE 52 smks were fine, but poofed 64 bergers and 60 sierra flat base in some barrels.....
8 and a vmax should be fine.
We can keep Larry Root and all his idiotic blabber and user names on here, but we can't get Ralph back..... Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, over....
