Hey guys,

Looking to get back into bowhunting after a hiatus of about 20 years. There is way more hunting opportunities with a bow here in ID (esp. during the rut) and I'll be able to get quite a few more days in hunting per year. Not to mention I'll enjoy the challenge of it.

Seeing how it's been so long since I've done the bow thing and equipment has changed so radically, I am, for all intents and purposes, a beginner.

While looking at various ready-to-hunt packages the PSE Stinger seemed to come highly regarded and a good bow for a reasonable price. I realize like any hobby/sport you can pay a lot more for stuff you don't need but I'm not the type to just buy the cheapest thing out there either. I want a quality bow that will be great for getting back into the game and then later I can get a 'fancier/hotter' bow if I feel the need. The package I found on the Stinger (2011 model) was $500 ready to hunt TYD.

Just wanted some extra opinions from real world users out there and any advice they have.

It will be used for elk, muleys and maybe speedgoat.

Thanks.

It ain't what you don't know that makes you an idiot...it's what you know for certain, that just ain't so...

It will do the job no doubt. There are better and worst out there. I noticed you said TYD, I personally would spend the few extra bucks (maybe) and buy from a local archery shop.
