WSJ reports that a Glock semi-automatic pistol was recovered. And the shooting was reported to be accidental as the gun discharged when the gun fired from within the backpack that contained the gun. I've never heard of a Glock firing in this manner and can't imagine what kind of malfunction might cause this. I don't accept the opinion that it was accidental.

Story does not pass the smell test, however, you must remember that to the media, if it's a handgun it's a Glock semiauto. smirk

Very possible to have been crammed into the BP. loaded, not in a holster in such a way something was against the trigger.
More likely the report is a load of rubbish.

Actually, it can be accidental if one accidentally has his dumb - azzz accidental finger on the non - forgiving / accidental trigger.

Would YOU carry a Glock loose in a backpack? Along with books, pens, pencils and assorted loose and disorganized stuff an average kid has in thier pack?

On a Glock the holster IS the safety, surrounding as it does the trigger.
