I know a lot of hunters, especially those from Europe, appreciate a referral. Here is a good one.

I can not recommend it enough.

While good recommendations are always welcome, operations like this always may be somewhat suspicious when they don't mention the size of the area being hunted, and the game density...

Its 1,000 acres. The web-site pretty much tells it all though. We had an amazing time, great people. Just wanted to pass it on. I have been to enough places that were not what they represented themselves as. When I find a real-deal, its refreshing. You won't go wrong with these folks.

The elk there can not migrate to the next county, but they are all wild. The place is all forests, and they don't use vehicles. Not a canned hunt at all. Read what the other hunters say who have been there. These elk or totally wild, and hard to get. It took me 3 days to get one, and I worked for it. Is it like 1960 in Colorado? No, but its pretty close. Not like the places you have in mind. No skin off my back though. I was just trying to pass on a place that gave me us an amazing adventure. They are few and far between. Its not a perfect world any more, but this place was just awesome!

A recommendation is appreciated, especially from a satified hunter, and not the owner..

As some one who has hunted behind large fenced areas in RSA, I'm certainly not going to throw stones and whether a 1000 acre block for elk is "fair chase", it is up to the individual to decide.

Glad you had a good time and would be interested to see any pictures if you have them..

After scouting and hunting over about 25,000 acres to get my elk this year, I should really look into one of these 1,000 acre high fence operations...

It's 1000 acres of high-fence and it took you 3 days to kill an elk? Holy crap, you'd have a hard time sucking worse than that. Did you feel good when you shot the elk? Did you snip the eartag off before the hero shots? High-fence elk shoots are for [bleep].

I always wondered why we have to turn on our fellow hunters?

If a guy posts he shot an elk after three days on a 1000 acre block, it looks like he being straight up and telling it like it is...If somebody posts hero pics of a huge Elk and neglects to mention how it was taken or trys to claim it was taken free range when it wasn't, then fine , call them out..

If somebody doesn't want to take an elk in this manner, simply don't do it is the answer..

Whether you are walking hand in hand with your boyfriend and displaying your new prince albert on a vienna sausage, or shooting a animal under "canned" circumstances .. expect some ribbing.

"Fellow hunters?"

I wasn't aware shooting an elk in a 1,000 acre pen was hunting...

Hunting is all about the inches of antler one gets for the dollar spent... Or at least I'm starting to think that is the way most guys think. If it was about the hunt or the experience why would anyone pay tens of thousands of dollars for this animal or that. Do any of these people have or aspire to have the skill to do it on their own???

Prices range from $3,150 to $7,950... why the hell wouldn't someone just book an elk hunt out West for the real deal? Or, plan a DIY Western Elk Hunt for even less?

A spike, killed on your own in the mountains, is more of a "trophy" than any of that stuff...

The Chicken Ranch offers more for less, and I bet it's gross, at best.

Sometimes I think people may get hoodwinked into thinking a penned elk is a cheaper elk. A 3 second Google search shows Brad is right on. Don't know a thing about the outfitters.

PRICES : 1x1 guided $8,450 - 2x1 guided $7,450

Even cheaper.
