I have a TI stock enroute to install on my BDL Mountain rifle that currently has a laminate stock. What do I need to buy for lower end parts to complete the conversion, and where is the best place to get them? Midway?

Thanks

Fred

Is it an ADL old style Ti stock or the newer BDL version? If the older style all you will need is an ADL trigger guard if it's the BDL newer version swap out what you have on your laminate stock. You should be able to use the mag box, spring and follower with either

I fixed up one of these in .280 for one of my grandsons and still regret that I didn't keep it!

I thought I saw a pic here showing a difference in the ADL mag box vs the BDL? ADL mag box is a little taller IIRC.

Yeah, the mag boxes are different. And the ADL has a little screw that holds it to the receiver if I remember correctly. I might actually have a couple ADL boxes around if you need one (short action).

Yup, in addition to an ADL trigger guard your need an ADL mag box and the little tab screw to attach the mag box to the receiver.

You're going to love the new setup as not only will the rifle be lighter, the balance will be a significant improvement.

All of my "serious" huntin' rifles have ADL, blind box magazines--it saves weight and is more simple--plus when I carry it my hand isn't wrapped around the metal floorplate.

For ADL conversion:

--Trigger guard--aluminum will save a couple ounces over steel or SS. The factory plastic TG is the lightest. If your Mtn rifle is SS, you can sand/buff/wire wheel the blueing off, and the bare aluminum is close enough to the SS.

--ADL mag box and the tab screw.

--The mag spring is a bit different, but will work.

--I suspect the laminate stock may be a little deeper than the Ti stock, so you may have to grind down the screws a bit or the rear screw will stick up in the rear raceway, and the front screw may stick out in the bolt raceway.

Midway and Brownells carries all the parts, just have to search their website to find the stuff--SS parts are harder to find though.

You can order it from Remington. I just ordered a bunch of SS parts for my rifles--shipping wasn't bad and they were surprisingly prompt, and the Rep I talked to was pleasant.
