Great weekend of fishing. Nate and I brought a dozen home on friday, mostly saugers. Then for our fishing yesterday we brought another 30 fish home, nice mix of saugers and walleye, some nicer walleye yesterday too, some 18 inchers.
So I cleaned about 42 fish this weekend.
Damn cold out there though. Dusty and Lonnie are still out there on the lake, probably coming off today.
Something clever here.

Yeah, I am with Tzone on this one. No pics = Big storyteller! And....and....I have heard that you have no idea what 18 inches is! Unless of course, you invite me up for some eatin'. If that is the case, I wholeheartedly believe ya! I might be coming up that way in March. Got invited to go do a little ice fitchin'.

I'm behind on picture posting. I meant to show you the wolf tracks out at deer camp from a couple weeks ago too. Thems woof tracks, it's about the only kind of tracks we've seen out there lately. We need to get a camera set out there so we can get some pictures of them. And here are some fishing pictures. Pam with a nice keeper. We caught some nice perch too. Perch were eating fresh water shrimp, this one was anyways. Nate with a little sauger.. A "bag o fish" from yesterday.

And here are some fishing pictures. Pam with a nice keeper. More like walleye with "nice keeper" to me. No deer for me this weekend (no fish either). I'm still shooting like a girl.

Off to research some ice house plans, need to downsize the monstrosity.
Thinking i will cannabaslize it to rebuild down to a 6x8 on skids.
Just something for the kids and I to use. I have a real nice 6 x 8 on skids I'd be willing to part with....

Tried calling some coyotes last nite. no luck. pretty darn dark, they would have been on top of us before we saw them. First time i have done it. I have a question for anyone in the know....where do you set up in relation to a woods or swamp? I set up about 50 yards from the edge on the downwind side. Problem was, on the downwind side there was no cover so we dug ourselves into the snow as best we could. B man, I'm no expert but you want to get some elevation looking into the downwind side. A coyote will mostly always circle to get down wind of the call. You will want to drop him before he catches your scent.

That was a decent perch but we get em bigger than that. We get those buggers with the big hump back, I've never bothered to measure or weigh one but I'm pretty sure they'd be "nice ones" in the eyes of any midwestern perch fisherman.
Heading south for work today. Wadena and Twin cities, unfortunately our group of 4 has a full plate on our route so there won't be time to stop and visit any of you mid state chickenbuckers.
