Replacing the plastic butt plate with a pad. Which one is best for fit/finish? My gun is a 1959 RC.

1. Marlin factory replacement pad?

2. Limbsaver precision fit?

3. Pachmeyr pre-fit?

4. Grind to fit pad?

I like the Pachmeyr and Limbsaver. Both work great. If you can get a direct fit replacement it is definetely easier than the grind to fit. Key with the grind to fit is freezing them to reduce the friction pieces when you grind.

Also take the length of the impact to your length of pull on the stock.
