Are they making anymore new bullets for that caliber?
What was it called again 325 WSM?

I just saw an add for them in some magazine that I was reading. I think it was Outdoor Canada. They said that they were on the way. Maybe they aren't quite out yet.

I think Nosler is making a 200gr accubond now and Barnes a 180gr tsx. I really liked the 220 hornady in my 8mag but that was replaced witha 195gr. There is also the 200gr partition and swift, 220 sierra and barnes x. Woodliegh makes some too, up to 250gr I think. I really miss the 220 Hornady. Had my 8 rebarreled a few years ago and haven't done much with it since. I was really partial to that bullet.

Hey Stick, do you mean Roasie O'Donnel in a thong (Ugh ) or Do you have another Rosie in mind? I know 2 that would light my fire so dressed. I guess my real question is--Do you like or hate the 325 WSM? BMT

Has anyone even put the factory rifles/ammo through the ringer yet? I've read a little about some wildcats but not much in the way of test data for over the counter equipment. I'm intrigued a little by the 325, its something different, I hope the real world numbers match up to the manufacturer bs that is the baseline now.

Folks I built a 325 WSM a few weeks ago and experimented with some loads, recorded pressures and velocities. In a few days I'll get that info to Rick Bin and he can post it here. Charlie

Right now I am interested in the "new" bullets as components that are to follow.

Guess after all these years I've got a handle on how fickle rifle buyers can be, but will never fully understand why this particular diameter causes such a cackle of sneers from those that should know better. Any cartridge that combines accuracy and as much versatility as the 325 might be capable of, or the 8mm Rem. mag already is capable of, should win enough converts to stay viable, IF people judge them with an open mind.
Those few folks I know personally that have 8mm Rem. magums think the world of them. As noted before, one of my best friends bought one the year they were introduced and once he settled on his whitetail load, seldom selected anything else on opening day (and unlike me, had plenty to choose from).
I may just be biased in favor of anything 8mm, since I've been shooting 8x57s for so long. Just wish I wasn't such a recoil woosie, or I'd have had an 8mm Rem. long ago.
If three or more people think you're a dimwit, chances are at least one of them is right.

As you may be able to tell from my handle I am an 8mm shooter. And like Dempsey I have been shooting the 220 Hornady in my 8 mag. I heard that Hornady discontinued it and bought out a few stores so I'm set with about 8 boxs. Now if hornady is listening they could corner a little of the 8mm/325 reload market by doing with the 220 what they did with the 400 gr. 416 bullet and reintroduce thier 220 gr 323 bullet in a bonded version. But I'm dreaming.
As for the 325 WSM, I'm waiting to see if it produces the advertised velocity in factory rifles? If it comes close it will be an excellent choice for elk, moose, bear ect.

Actually, I find this WSM to have more appeal to me than all the others. I have hardly given any Win Stupid Magnums or Win Super Stupid Magnums much thought at all as I beleived they were a passing fad and a sales pitch.
Truthfully, I think if I were to become interested in any WSM, it would be the 325 WSM. I think I will pick one up for the hell of it.

I am curious about why Winchester (US Repeating Arms) would chamber any rifle for 8MM caliber when it appears .338 would make more sense. BTW, I have nothing against the 8MM caliber. I think it is damn useful. As a kid I hunted with a elderly gentleman who had a sporterized 8MM Mauser that he considered his big gun, too big for mule deer. And I think the 8MM Rem Mag was a damn good idea that shoulda caught on. However, the reality is American hunters just do not seem willing to accept the proven benefits of the 8MM caliber!
Good huntin',
