Yeah I have one that I bought in 1988 or so. It was near the end of the manufacturing run and I think Remington was using up parts. I had one earlier that I bought for $49.95 in a long gone old country store where you could buy a rifle, blue jeans, or a bologna sandwich. Anyway I carry mine around a lot on my place when I am woods cruising or scouting. It is very handy and perfectly suited for that purpose. I ran across a coyote a few weeks ago and the rifle works as designed. PH

I smell PHOTOSHOP! Everyone who posts in the varmints section here knows you CANNOT kill a coyote with a measly little .22rf! Despite that fact that I hve done so myself... smile

Nice photo of a 'good' coyote.

I've always wondered how one of the cantilever barrel mounts meant for the Rem/Browning 22 Auto would work on a 66.

Croldfort: I have owned a number of these little nylon Remington Model 66 Rifles over the years.
I have only shot just a couple of them. And like you mentioned they functioned well for me.
I long ago noticed "an interest" in certain people that I tried to turn into "profits".
It seems some folks are not aware of this intense interest by others and for decades I could buy these "nylon" guns on occassion, for cheap - and then take them to where the "nylon guns" and "66 lovers" congregated.
I bet over the decades I have made $500.00 to $700.00 in profit off of Model 66's, Model 76's (nylon lever action) and Model 10's (nylon bolt action).
Enjoy your collection - I kind of wish I had one left over for my grandkids.

Most all of my 66's, 77's, 10C's, including a 76 lever, and 12 bolt are "Mohawk Brown". I have one 66 in "Apache Black/Chrome" and another in "Secena Green".

I think that the end of the run 10-C Mohawks that were only sold through high volume retailers had Senica Green plastic with matte finished metal. Or at least that is how I remember them.

Saw a very nice Apache Black Nylon 66 at the Boise show this morning.

Asked the guy how much he wanted, he said $350, it was for his son's college fund.

I thought to myself as I laid it down and walked away, "I hope the kid gets a scholarship..."

I hunted around and found a C&R-able Seneca Green Nylon 66, what nifty little rifles! This particular one was made in March 1960 and was a time capsule.

I did take my apart a little, but in doing so I discovered a crack originating from the sear pin hole. I tried some modern adhesive and, well, it didn't stick. On the other hand, I tested it with several magazines and it fed each time with different brands.

Kind of surprised that with the advances in composites, Remington has not revisited the Nylon concept.
