One of the earlier post million guns with cut checkering but still has that awful tang safety that came with the break into 1 million territory. [yes Rory, except for the E]

Hee hee.. It'd be from 1960. Not any collector interest, but it should be a great hunting rifle if you scope it up and take it out. Tang safety was popular with lefties..

thanks for the info

i bought a lyman reciver site for it before i recived the rifle. it doesnt fit because of the saftey so i will have to find a 250-3000 that i can put the lyman on. this will be hunted with, thats why i picked it up just need to find the right scope for this rifle.

I like your logic - got a sight, now I gotta buy a gun for it!

Looks like it has 1 Weaver base on it. do you have the other?

That's kind of how I operate as well. More than once, I've found a bargain on ammo, only to then hunt for a gun to shoot it in. Seems perfectly logical to me. Not so much to my wife.

Got a good chuckle out of that one grin

I got a Redfield receiver sight for a Krag in a box lot at a gun show one time. I then hunted high and low for a nifty Sedgley Krag sporter to put it on. (I actually bought the boxful of odd sights and parts for the Lyman 103 cocking knob sight for a Springfield sporter I had. The dealer didn't know what he had, but I had to buy the whole box or none of it- for $40 as I recall. There was also two Griffin&Howe scope bases in there. Ah, for the good old pre-internet days when yokels at back country gun shows couldn't identify half of what they put out on their tables for sale!)
