Check fasteners. What base/ring/glass?

Re-15,120V-Max,kiss,find pressure and rock on.

Thanks Stick
She's wearing a HS sendero take off stock. Leupold dual dovetail bases and burris signature rings. Zeiss 4-14*50mm SF. Barrel is floated all the way.
I'm not complaining, I've not spent much trigger time with her.
I'll give the Amax a try too. I've plenty of RE15 .

I've got a 700 sps varmint in .223 that shoots molyed 50gr v-max's into one whole groups at 100 yards. When I bedded the action I bedded in some bird shot into the forarm, 12OZ. of lead and spray foam in the butt.

A buddy of mine has one in .243. He had to replace the stock before it started shooting well also, now it's a real fine shooter. The cheap stocks causing problems seems to be a recurring theme with them.

Mine in 308 shot well out of the box. I chopped it to 20" for sneaking through the thick stuff and balance. Now is extremely accurate, I've shot a few 1/2" 200yrd groups. This one is sticking around.

HS handles need bedding, far worse than most. If you've shot it much at all, you'll see skid marks on the action's underside, where she's been dancing around inside the stock. Dab bed the lug,to preclude that.

Hint...............

Fotis: I have 2 (two) of Remington's 700 SPS-V's!
They are both VERY accurate and balance and feel good in my hands out at the range and in the field.
They are a little better than okay for looks and have VERY good triggers!
Quality is just fine and all I have done to mine is adjust the triggers and torque the action screws.
I have a Leupold 6.5x20 variable scope on my 223 SPS-V and the last trip to the range for sight-in verification on a dead calm day produced a group (5 shots at 100 yards) measuring .372"!
This Rifle shoots Berger 52's into consistently small groupings!
I just got my SPS-V in caliber 22-250 Remington late last August - Antelope, Deer and Elk seasons have interupted my load development regimen with this Rifle but it shows real promise - I have a 36 power scope on it right now while developing loads.
Its best group (5 shots at 100 yards) to date has been .420" (again on a dead calm day) but I have only tried three powders and two bullets in it so far. This 22-250 SPS-V also shoots Remington factory ammunition quite well. I had a box of Remington factory 55 grain Power-Lokt H.P.'s on hand and used them up for obtaining fireformed barss and barrel breakin.
I consider the SPS-V's to be an excellent value and there recently was a "rebate" on them - it may still be in effect?
Best of luck if you decide to try one!

The gunsmith that chopped and recrowned was a toolmaker before gunsmithing. Just so happens he worked in the same shop I used to work in, only a few years apart.

I trust him because he is dead set on perfection. He is not well known but builds some top-notch rigs. One of those well-kept secrets I don't want to get out!

Now if the range at work would open up soon. Come on April get here quick!

Took the SPS V 308 out today to rezero, after bedding and firing some lappers through it. 155 Scenar kissing lands, five went into .95" at 100 yards, with four of those in .55". Not bad. Temp was 18F, 5 mph wind. I was shooting on the ground with the bipod.

Here it sits in the HTG, with 16X Super Sniper in Burris Signature DD mounts. Kinda looks like the mechanics car, but I'll get her painted up when it warms up a bit.
