He's Huge! I don't have a clue (remember I'm still learning here ), but its got to be well over twenty! In length did he make the 50's (inches)? What a fish.

Noticing the date in the picture, that was just yesterday. Man you had a good day fishing! Nice picture. Posting pictures like this you're really hurting my desire to work until retirement.

Anybody else have some guesses? Where's Wildone? This is getting saltwater size .

Seriously though, thanks for posting that's quite a fish and a great picture too.

Nice work Yukoner!!! I live at Lake Tahoe and I'm jelous. My biggest here is a 14#er. Lake record is mid to upper 30's. I heard of 100#+ from a lake in Scotland.

Well, boys, it's the shortest day of the year. Sunrise was at 10:10 this morning, and will be down aound 3:50 this afternoon.

Our weather has been so crazy here, that most of the big lakes are still open and very little snow on the roads to them. Terry and I decided to go trolling for lake trout today, just so we could say we had done it on Dec 21st.

Phil said he wanted to go, but couldn't today, so we have decided to go tomorrow. The wind was up a bit this morning, gusting to 50 K. Discretion being the better part of valour, tomorrow will actually be better. We don't need any more ice spray freezing on the boat than necessary.

This trip could be, "The last lake trout of the year!."

Will report back tomorrow evening..

Ted,
I'm probably going to be coming up next summer/fall to visit a friend that lives in Dawson. I'm going to have to give you a call and maybe we can wet a line. I've never caught a laker over 6 pounds but I sure would like too!

Ted,

That looks like more fun than ice fishing.....this is a great winter huh?

A guy named Sam Steele shows up in Dawson he could get some mileage out of that......He could claim to be a grandson or some such.

SS, let me know a few weeks before you come up and we'll do our best to hook you up with one bigger than six pounds!

Thanks for the Christmas greetings David.

Vern, it was fun, that's for sure! Maybe not more fun than ice-fishing, but we had a good day. Left the big ones in the lake, kept a few for friends coming over for dinner tonight.

Crazy warm winter, for sure. Usually by this time we would be ice fishing. Could easily be -40...........or colder.

You guys are having way to much fun. But hey it's the 23rd you probably already have more sun. at least by a few seconds and it's only looking up from there. We'll be past January and Feburary before you know it. I go over to Haines about every other year, may need to stop in. If you get over this way give a hollar.

Thanks for the greetings, Dan.

We are actually getting ready to do some serious ice-fishing if the lakes ever freeze.

May the Good Lord bless all of you fishers abundantly, with good health, joyous times and tight lines in 2006!
