If it feels good to you, I'd do it, Annie.

I've had a couple of the Rossi leverguns in .44 Mag. Both were smooth and easy to operate, and shot pretty good, too. The 16" gun was okay, but the 20" gun shot better.
My buddy had a .357, it was a little pickier about what it would feed well. As long as he used bullets with a profile like the Hornady XTP, his rifle fed fine.

My circa 1986 Rossi M92 clone in 357 is my favorite gun and has been for many years. It has a 20" barrel in 1-32 twist and especially likes smaller bullets. The cast Lee 140 gr plain base bullet in wheelweight alloy @ ~1500 fps is its favorite load. It also likes the Lee C358-158-SWC @ 1700+ fps w/Lil'Gun. From a 6-hole mould, an hour's casting will give you a pile of those bullets. However, for romp 'em stomp 'em loads try 180 gr+ jacketed or cast bullets with Lil'Gun powder. It takes the 357 mag to a whole new level....

My 32 twist rifle shoots any smaller bullet well to outstanding, but it's picky about bigger bullets.

Pre-Taurus '92 clones are just that, exact clones of the original Winchesters and most excellent rifles & carbines. I have one of the Navy Arms imports that I used for years in CAS matches and hog shooting that I LOVE. It is a .357 and shoots everything from Cowboy loads, BP loads to Cor-Bon 180 grain JSP's with equal reliability & accuracy.

BTW, mine is stainless with the octagon BBL. I showed it to some of the guys at the first campfire hog hunt in TN and damn near didn't get it back from Wildswalkers son!
