actually been in the works of a new stove through a guy out on the west coast. we both built prelim prototypes and he is developing it for sale. when it is ready, i will get it set up in one of my tipis (probably late march or april) and list it on the website. many a shed antler will be picked up on multi day trips this spring while using the combined tipi and his stove. also been using the Kelly kettle alot and that will be going along as well.

to the best of my knowledge, silnylon is not waterproof. That's funny, the only time I get wet in Kifaru a tipi is when I open the door.... or when you spill your koolaide. Kifaru not withstanding Smokepole is right. I have never had water leak though any correctly sealed Sil tarp, poncho or tent. Nice looking tipi!

Do you really want to hide your tent?? I like to choose bright colors generally that stick out making it easier to find them in poor weather visibility or darkness. Just a thought.

this roll of fabric will be going towards an 11 ft. diameter by 5 ft. 10 inch center height single door tipi with stovejack, stakes and stuffsack. no centerpole. the tipi complete with the stovejack will be priced at 375.00 shipped.
i bought enough fabric for nearly 20 tents.

I like old school woodland but that sure looks great as well. The only times I might have an issue finding my tent is at night if forced to do a water run etc. For that I just put the lights on.

Quick question, why use a tipi shape instead of the Go-Lite SL 5 shape? 4 corners staked, and you are set. I have never pitched a tipi yet, but they sure look like a hassle, getting that perfect circle setup.

multiple panels equal multiple seams. the seams act as a guyline structure and the more guy lines the better. i think it is a stronger setup than the 4 panel pyramid. the hassel does not exist. a center stake and equal radius measurements to all corners. easy to do with a simple piece of 550 cord marked at the correct radius. i have set them up enough to be able to wing it. it take me 2-3 minutes.

Even a non circle tipi is pretty easy with a setup rope.
square structures don't handle the wind as well.
I have my own thoughts on the vertical seams, we built a few like that. Ours are now sort of hybrid seams. They do help provide structure but there are disadvantages as well.
