Someone posted a pic a while back of a stock done in brown w/black splatter that almost looked like wood. Wish I could find the post - thought I had it bookmarked for future reference.

Here is my LH M70 in 7X57... Sweet LH M70 there! Particulars please if you don't mind? The action was completely reworked by Mark Penrod to include a custom bolt handle, recontoured rear tang, bolt release built up and checkered, safety properly timed, trigger repinned as well as the usual lapping/truing and Blackburn bottom metal. Custom 7X57 reamer throated to my specs, Douglas #2 contour barrel finished at 23 inches (which is about perfect IMO with the Echols Legend stock), and finally McMillan bedded and finished out the Edge construction Legend stock. I plan to send the barreled acton in to Birdsong Black-T soon to truly finish it.

Here is a McMillan I had film dipped by Tarjac for about 100.00. The color looks a little flat in the picture but looks more normal in person.

I'm digging the McWoody. Definitely see one of those in my future. Maybe a M70 Safari stock. I always liked the brown with red pad, but that McWoody is slick, no doubt.

That looks neat. Does anyone know the mix percentages and colors?

Looks like one of the burls. Did you specify a flat finish? Lastly, how's the finish holding up to normal hunting 'abuse'?

I am 99% sure it is the dark burlwood. I want to try the Turkish walnut too... I didn't specify a flat finish and it looks more of a matte satin in person especially after wiping the gun down with a light oil. The finish has been holding up great. I would say better than the factory paint on other McMillan stocks I have. If you drag your rifle by the barrel through the rocks it might wear different.
