...USS Momsen and another guided missile destroyer, the USS Bunker Hill, stopped a pirate attack on Panamanian oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman.
...
The Navy says the pirates fled in two skiffs to a mothership. To prevent them from being used in piracy again, the Momsen destroyed the two skiffs when they were empty and being towed.

If it had been me, a stray round would have found the mother.

should be a training exercise, target practice with the 5"/ 62 gun on the mother ship.

letting the mother ship go after they made it back is like stopping the pursuit of bank robbers simply because they made it to their car. I would say it made the opportunity easier. one target instead of a couple, heck they were tied together too! artificial reef.

if they had just cause to fire on the small boats, they shoulda blown the pirates out of the water completely. wtf is wrong with our "leaders"?

What leaders?! We have a bunch of little girls running things. Even a little boy would have blown up everything.

its hard to come up with a name for them, they aren't Leading us anywhere except down the crapper, they aren't "in charge" because that would indicate a backbone and a commanding personality.
maybe "elite parasites", or course then you insult any number of tapeworms and the like or maybe "entitled feeling, selfish bastards"
