I have been to the store in Paducah Kentucky two or three times....and have yet to spend any money on loading supplies. Come to think of it the only thing I bought was a POS store brand spotting scopedont buy one they are junk!!!!!

From my experience, and this only includes two stores, Ganders is a great place to go look at stuff before ordering from someone else. Their regular prices are well above most anyone else.
They do have some very good sales though. Their sale prices on guns have been as good as any I've seen.

We have a local gun store I would love to support, but I can beat their prices by 33% if I drive 130 miles to the nearest city. I make the drive about once a month. $24 local for a brick of 22's, and $16 if I drive.

For me to buy anything at a Gander Mountain store it would have to be a dire emergency; haven't had one yet! Excluding an occasional good price on a sale item, everything is ridiculously priced.

I am hoping the one here goes out of business soon... I cannot wait to have a party in the parking lot.... most over priced placed I have ever been in... Me too, so I can stock up on stuff at 10 cents on the dollar like I did when they went out of business the first time! Wilmot? I equiped myself with most of the musky tackle I could ever want during that closeout..

My wife bought a 1000 box of primers at the Amarillo store, a year ago - they charged her 80-odd dollars - and lost a customer, permanently!! Anyone can gouge me once! Mark

The one in Cedar Rapids did not carry reloading supplies for very long after it opened. The stock they had on hand just kept dwindling slowly until it was gone. The price never came down while it sat. It often seems that the sporting goods stores would be overjoyed to deal in nothing but clothing.

They had 300Rum loads for $99 a box. The kid working there said they didn't sell a lot of them. I wonder why?
No 7-08 or 338Marlin loads either before deer hunting.

They almost got me on Win 223 brass once. I would have never gone there if I had not been in a big hurry. I ended up purchasing about 800 bucks worth of stuff. When I got outside the store and realized that none of the shelf prices were the same as what they charged me on 80% of the stuff, I went back inside and returned everything. I will walk in the store to use the restroom, but that is about it.

Why walk in? Just drop the Obamas right in front of the main entrance door:)

Gander does price-match ya know...all you have to do is ask.
I was there last week with the G/F & they had some great deals on all their insulated clothing. We picked up some under armour evo coldgear mock shirts & pants for $35, north face danali for $85,some columbia coats for 60% off. She tried on some muck woody-max boots & really liked them. The price was something like $145 so we took them to the service counter & mentioned that cabelas had them on sale for $99 & can you match that price for us. She looked it up & said yes, we can do that for you.
They also had a 3-9 trijicon scope with the green triangle on sale for $650..cheapest I've ever seen. I'd have picked it up if we didn't have the cart loaded down with so many damned clothes.
I prefer to buy bows & guns from the local shops, but have no problem with Gander for other items that the smaller shops don't carry.
This is Gander's price-match guarantee..posted right on their website:
"If you should find a lower price on an identical in stock item within 14 days at a local competitor, let us know and we will match that price! The competitor must be within a one-hour drive from your Gander Mountain store. This offer excludes rebates, financing offers, misprints, discontinued, clearance, or closeout prices on used, damaged, returned, open box or display merchandise. Stop by the Customer Service counter for complete details."
For all the friggin whiners, what could be more fair than that..seriously? There's just no pleasing some people.

Gander moved into Sheffield Village Ohio some time back. Their prices were low and they did such damage to the mom and pop gun shops that many went out of business. Then they started jacking up prices and dropping product.
I stay out of Gander. I go to another shop, or down to Fin Feather Fur. I internet shop a lot now if local stores don't have what I want.
