The youngest winner of the Daytona 500 gives praise to God for his victory. He also stated that he and his team pray to God.
That has to tee-off the Dems and the titular head of their party BHO.LOL.
Congratulations to Trevor and the Woods Brothers team.

I'm sure he knows the people exist - when he's reminded of them but I guarantee if you walked up to him right now and said "Trevor just thanked God after winning the 500" - he'd go "Dang, that's a lot of touchdowns"

A careful look would show it is loaded with five been in the wheel. The six on the side are for reloading.

Joe Gibbs and Richard Petty do the same. Many do. In fact, Petty cars were not allowed to run in the Bud shoot-out races because he would not allow beer (Bud) sponsors to be displayed on his cars.
Unless I am mistaken NASCAR is now the only publicly televised sporting venue that still opens with prayer. Their stance was oh well don't watch.
Nothing wrong with any of it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the race today. Bayne sure seems like a fine young man.

Nothing wrong with any of it. Not to bust your chops but Petty had no problem taking Bud's cash when Kahne was the driver of #9 Great to see the local guys win again................ GO 21!

Bust away!
That was in 2009 after Petty merged with Gillett Evernham Motorsports in 2009 and others called the shots.
"Now George Gillett, who already owns the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League and a piece of the English soccer club Liverpool, adds another historic name to his portfolio. Petty Enterprises wasn't exactly in a position to be demanding, given that former majority owners Boston Ventures, a private equity firm, had been unable to secure any new sponsorship, and lost what little existing backing it did have. The team that had won 10 championships and 268 races was on the brink of complete ruin. Now it's been rescued by a larger, more successful organization that won two races last year, and in the process somehow kept the legacy of its last name intact."
But up until that point there were was no beer decals on Petty cars. Not even certain Bud carried the 9 car the whole season. And oh yeah Bud is gone from Petty now. So is Kahne right? Leastwise next season.
He was afraid his Mother would return from the Heavens with a mission. Or so the story goes.
As you stated it's great to see the 21 guys back on-track. Maybe I'll grab my Dad and drive to Spartanburg to pay a visit to Mister 21!

I thought it was way cool to see him win.
But overall, I thought all the Daytona races this year sucked with only a two car draft being competitive.

I enjoyed the race. Daytona is always a race full of strategy, and more than a bit of luck. Trevor Bayne drove a fine race and sure seems like a fine young man. He certainly knows where the power is.

Just caught the tail end of the race today, what a nifty move Bayne used to win it. Dumping his pusher and sliding down in front of Edwards was pretty cool. The Aflac man was going to get it if he hadn't.

I have not been a NASCAR fan for about a decade....
That said, I watched the race, saw the end, and the kid won it.
He drove.
He raced.
He won.
No one gave him anything. I almost busted in to tears sitting back getting to watch this accomplishment.
No one can take anything away from his victory.
Have a good day man. In honor of personal freedom and the open squirrel season, I think I'll go put a hole through dinner's head.

No one can take anything away from his victory. Oh I'm sure there are not several NASCAR whiners trying to do that since the race ended. I haven't bothered with NASCAR for over 20 years now. Haven't missed a damn thing.

Loved seeing the 21 win, That kid drove a good race and was good all week. Amazing to see the Wood brothers back in Victory lane. Told a buddy this morning that I wanted JR to win and if it wasn't him I would love to see the 21 with Trevor win. Was an interesting race with all the 2 car racing but it is what it is. Now the part about pissing off the Dems makes it even better
