Has anyone had the chance to look at one of the new mossberg rifles? If so what are your opinions of it?

The June/July issue of OUTDOOR LIFE has a "sporting gear " test and the Mossberg ATR was appraised. It got poor marks in almost every catagory: Fit / finish / accuracy / trigger...etc. Pretty much said that it needs some tlc before Mossberg should release it to the shooting public. Stroll to page 116-117 for the review. BT53

I sure wish Mossberg was not a sponsor of Buck McNeely... Wrote them a letter of complaint about Buck's TV show where The idiot is twirling a Mossberg shotgun muzzle on the concrete while talking to the camera. He has his palm on the toe and is swinging said pump gun pretty fast.
Not exactly what I want to have to explain to a kid after he sees something like that.
Within a month Buck was busted for same-day airborne hunting of caribou here in AK. A second letter to Mossberg got the same lack of response. I will not buy or deal in any Mossberg because of their attention to such things. art
Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.

There was one a while back in the classified on another board. The Mossberg ATR rifle, incl. scope and climbing tree stand sold for $200, total. Judging by the OUTDOOR LIFE test/review though, I hope whoever bought it is at least happy with their new tree stand.
