Does anyone have any report on the Mossberg 464 rimfire? I haven't seen a write up of it, that usually means it is not any good. I appreciate any comments.

I have never seen one, I was wondering if it had an alloy receiver, and was wondering about overall fit and quality. Thanks.

I struggled with choice between Henry and Mossberg. Ended up buying a used but not abused Henry 22 solely because of posts I rec'd from another site. Now that I've shot it approx 75 times, I'm glad that I bought the Henry. Its accuracy is amazing and lever action is like greased Teflon!!
That's not to say the Mossberg is a mediocre rifle. Its just that no one had actually shot one and the unknown bothered me. In contrast, I rec'd many first hand reports of the Henry from delighted owners.
Henry did not engineer this outstanding 22 rifle. The design is by ERMA of Germany (model 71) with slight improvements by Iver Johnson (model 72)in the 1970's. Henry purchased the patent a few years ago. This is not meant to be critical of Henry at all- just stating the facts.

FWIW, The Henry has a steel receiver, enclosed by an alloy cover.
IDK what material Mossberg uses for their receiver, but Mossy's Henry-like cover looks like alloy too.
